Our favourite starting point for Vivid is Milson’s Point train station. It’s a quiet train stop on the north side of the Harbour Bridge. From here, access the bridge’s east side and soak in an incredible panoramic view of the Harbour. You’ll see the Opera House lit up, Vivid boat cruises glowing in the water, and lights illuminating the city skyline—simply breathtaking!

- Route: Walk across the east side of the Harbour Bridge
- Distance: 1.7 km (Approx. 40 minutes with photo stops)
Pro Tip: The best time to walk the Harbour Bridge during Vivid is just after dark when the city’s lights start to glow but before the crowds peak. For an uninterrupted experience, aim for early evening on a weekday! Also: dress warmly—it can get quite breezy up there at night!
2. Walk Through The Rocks and Immerse Yourself in Light Installations
Once you descend the Bridge Stairs near The Rocks, you’ll be stepping straight into the heart of Vivid’s art installations.
Must-See Stops:
- The Glenmore Hotel or Australian Heritage Hotel for a quick drink
- Various interactive light sculptures scattered around The Rocks
- Circular Quay for vibrant projections on the Harbour and Opera House
- Distance: 1.6 km (Approx. 21 minutes + pit stops)
